Butte United Soccer Club
Board Meeting Minutes
August 11, 2009
Meeting began at 7:42pm at Loma Vista Elementary by BG Sick, President.
The July Board meeting minutes was approved by Cindy Sick and
Rob Robbins and was recorded by Angela McKeown , Secretary.
President Report by BG Sick: There will be a BYSL meeting for all Head Coaches who have an “F”
license and the date & place will be posted on the BUSC website. CYSA insurance will not cover a scrimmage between a Metro
Club and US Club due to liabilities and the event not being sanctioned. If a club is dual registered, the
Nor Cal Premier will not accept an athlete and/or team. US Club teams must honor their commitment to the US Club organization
and cannot compete in both leagues. Paul O’Brian (US Club Rep) stated that the bottom line to this issue is that the
US Club will not allow teams to be dual registered. The BUSC is looking into an interclub sanction event that would allow
teams to scrimmage.
Treasurer Report
by Beth Romig, VP Administration: Bank Account #1 Tri Counties Bank Account for July 2009 ending balance = $22,460.91.
Bank Account #2: July 2009 ending balance = $4914.25. Player passes were paid for and distributed to the BUSC teams.
Beth stated that she needs the Treasurer names of each team as part of the required documents for the BUSC.
Volunteer Coaches by Chris Sillars, Past President:
We need clarification on defining the term volunteers and how it is applied to the BUSC coaches. The current policy that stands
now must be enforced. This has been tabled for the next board meeting in September.
Registrar Report by Cindy Sick: No Report
New Business: Jordan Reed, Metro Rep: A meeting
will held for all Division 3 coaches in Paradise on September 1, in regards to the season
starting on September 12th and the first set of games. If any coaches have issues or problems that involve an injury,
red card, and conflicts with the Sacramento teams, please contact Jordan Reed.
BUSC Website by Beth Romig: Please send in soccer information acknowledgements
so that teams can be recognized on the website.
Referees Club: We are currently seeking a licensed assigner to coordinate the referees. The BUSC will be putting
a notice for recruitment for this position. The BUSC has some options by using the services of Wayne Ward and Francisco Avalos.
The BUSC does not want to have a referee shortage this year.
Soccer Fields by Rob Robbins: Rob reviewed the renovations and payments to the
Chico HS fields. Tony, Chico High Head Soccer Coach, informed Rob that our field usage will be covered by our field maintenance
and contributions. The Chico HS soccer fields will be available for CYSA games and US Club games. The Degarmo fields will
have lights for this soccer season. Other soccer fields to consider will be Neighborhood Church/Chico Christian School
and Pleasant Valley High School. I informed the BUSC that the PV fields are not yet ready for Division 1 games. The
PV fields still need more work before they can be used for Division 1 games.
Game Balls by BG Sick: BG will have the game balls for each team on Wednesday,
8/12/09 and each team will receive three game balls.
BG Sick called the meeting to end at 8:46pm.
